my little sister comes home tonight for winter break. she will be home until jan. 5 and i can hardly contain myself. i love her so much and she is so cute and i love to kiss her and squish her cheeks. people always ask if we are twins, which makes me crazy because i am 7 years older than her. she loves it though. even though growing up with a little sister/admirer can be challenging, now that we are older we spend a lot more time together. i can always count on her for lunch dates, getting our nails done and of course, shopping. she was so excited when i got engaged and can't wait for the wedding (where she will be the maid of honor). it breaks my heart that she has missed out in much of the planning since she doesn't live here. i always pictured her right there next to me as i tried on dresses. since she has been 4 hours away at washington state university, i miss her more than i can explain. i truly cherish when she is home and love this time of year because it brings her home for more than just a weekend. i'm sad to be spending a week of the time that she is home on the other side of the state where she is usually at.
